Dr. Gary Lawton attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with highest honors in 1986. He studied hard through his college career and graduated second in his class and was elected to the Golden Key Honor Society, the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. After college, Gary attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts at Worcester and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990 and distinguished himself as a Senior Scholar in Surgery.
Dr. Lawton attended Yale University, where he began his surgical training and spent 2 years in the laboratory of the Gastrointestinal Pathobiology Research Group. He earned the highly sought after American College of Surgeons Scholarship for the Study of Would Healing, and the Ohse Foundation Research Fellowship. Dr. Gary Lawton also received Scientific Awards from the Association of Veterans Administration Surgeons, and the Connecticut Society of American Board Surgeons. At the Yale University School of Medicine, he received his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and earned the Corso Award for Outstanding Research in both 1999 and 2000.
Dr. Gary Lawton has written 3 book chapters, and published 20 articles and 22 abstracts in medical journals, from subjects ranging from practical surgical applications to the molecular biology of wound healing. Not to mention, Dr. Lawton has spoken at various regional, national, and international meetings.
Dr. Lawton opened his practice in 2000 and focuses on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, with a particular emphasis on breast lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation, body contouring, liposuction, and tummy tuck (also known as abdominoplasty).
Dr. Lawton is a detail-oriented perfectionist when it comes to his work. He takes as much time with each patient as needed to ensure he gives the patient the results they are looking for by listening to them.
